Our "Guidelines for Teachers" now available

The guide How to Podcast Your School – Guidelines for Teachers Grounded in Teaching Practice is one of the key outputs of the Erasmus+ project Podcast

The guide How to Podcast Your School – Guidelines for Teachers Grounded in Teaching Practice is one of the key outputs of the Erasmus+ project Podcast Your School, developed to support upper secondary school teachers who wish to introduce podcasting into their educational practice

Designed by and for teachers, the publication translates real classroom experiences into clear, practical guidance that can be adopted in any school context.

Based on the collective work of partner schools in Poland, Portugal, and Greece, the guide demonstrates that podcasting is not an add-on or extracurricular activity, but a flexible and inclusive teaching methodology. It shows how audio production can be integrated into different subjects — languages, humanities, sciences, and cross-curricular projects — while addressing key educational goals such as communication, collaboration, creativity, and digital literacy.

What makes this guide particularly valuable is its strong grounding in everyday school reality.

Rather than focusing on professional studio standards, it emphasises simplicity and accessibility: smartphones, free software, and familiar digital platforms are more than sufficient for creating meaningful podcast projects. Teachers are guided step by step through planning, scripting, recording, editing, publishing, and reflection, with concrete examples, timelines, and role distributions that help manage classroom work effectively.

The guide also addresses common challenges — time constraints, assessment, uneven participation, and technical concerns — offering tested solutions drawn from classroom practice. Special attention is given to inclusion, student voice, ethical considerations, and formative assessment, ensuring that podcasting remains a safe, respectful, and educational experience for all learners.

As an open and freely available resource, How to Podcast Your School represents the project’s commitment to sharing knowledge beyond the partnership. It invites teachers across Europe to experiment with podcasting, adapt the methodology to their own contexts, and empower students to become confident communicators with a voice that truly matters.
